Water Hygiene Engineer Q1

Key Duties for a Water Hygiene Engineer Q1 role, working to guidance ACOP L8, HSG 274 Parts 1, 2 and 3 and Safe Water in Healthcare Premises HTM 04-01

Note: Not all Q1 engineers will be risk assessment trained, however should be trained mechanically to carry out closed system flushing works in place of this.
Microbiological sampling of domestic water systems
Water temperature testing & monitoring
Cleaning and Disinfection of Shower Heads and Hoses
Cleaning and Disinfection of ‘Cold Water’ Storage Tanks
Servicing of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV’s)
Updating of site logbooks.
Carry out remedial works, including removal of deal leg pipework, insulation of pipework to British Standards and small new install works.
Carry out mains water injections and new system disinfections.
Closed system analysis using specific testing equipment to test water quality and inhibitor levels.
Closed system inhibitor dosing/ biocide dosing and purging of systems.
Flushing trained staff - Complete Closed system flushing works and commissioning.
Calorifier inspection and maintenance.
Inspection of ‘cold water’ storage tanks.
Risk Assessor trained staff - Completion of Legionella risk assessment site visits, write ups and drawings 

Work will be carried out all over the country however the position will suit a candidate based in the Portsmouth/Waterlooville area as this is the base for operations.
